History
Feri Mezon created the Mezon concept when she was a student at the Otis Parson Fashion School in the early 1990s. Since then she has expanded Mezon’s trademark ribbon design with new fabrics, cuts, trims, and colors, including our unique tie-dye process. Mezon’s pieces are like no other, meticulously hand stitched under the supervision of Mezon’s founder in our factory located in the heart of the Los Angeles fashion district.
Since it was founded in 1990, Mezon has experienced steady organic growth. Being entirely debt free, Mezon pursues creative design inspirations without restrictions. This is why wearing Mezon is like wearing art; it is truly an expression of the self. Every piece is unique in its own way and with so many choices; you are bound to find something for every mood. Mezon believes in wearing something that is as comfortable as it is expressive, delivering multiple types of sensory satisfaction when worn.
Mezon
Mezon specializes in ribbon tops of all varieties under the sun. These designs have exquisite embellishments and unique color schemes. Mezon tops are 90% cotton and 10% lycra, featuring artistic, custom-made embroidered trims. They are hand-made, individually washed and tie-dyed with our custom color mix. Designer inspiration is about fabric, trims, laces, silks, colors, flowers, romance, and above all, women! Mezon items are extremely versatile and can be worn for any occasion. Not only do Mezon tops look equally great over jeans or under a business suit, but they are perfect for that special event or holiday party.
Coco Mezon
Coco Mezon creates contemporary designs and a new twist on the original Mezon concept. Here you will find a diverse range of items from a cocktail top to your casual tee-shirt, equally sexy and unique in their own ways.
Sina Mezon
Sina Mezon, our newest line, is where you will find denim, leather, and accessories. Check out our belts and purses to add some flair to your look.
Fabrics and Embroidery
Most Mezon tops are made with 90% cotton 10% lycra blend that is comfortable, form fitting and allow for easy care. We also use different types of lace including silk, silk georgette, stretch silk, nylon cotton, nylon rayon, lace cotton.
Mezon trademark embroidery begins with its custom trims. We use a variety of fabrics to create our custom trims, including rayon ribbon, organza, lace, poly crepe, metallic thread, and silk. By using various techniques, such as bias cutting, Mezon has created some of the most unique trims and designs in the fashion industry.
In addition to its unique trims, Mezon uses a variety of hardware to add to the uniqueness of its creations. Pay close attention to the different combinations of nailheads, studs, rhinestones, beads, sequins found in our tops.
Colors and Dyework
We use a selection of different dye processes and washes to create our unique colors such as Mineral, Suede, and tie-dye. A few of our dye processes include Rainbow, Drip, and Three-Line, which is characterized by a mix of three different colors blended diagonally.
Cuts
The Tank is our most popular and ubiquitous cuts. Most of our tanks sit right at the waistline; however, we have had a few that expose the midriff. In addition to our tanks, we have short (cap) sleeves, long sleeves, three-quarter sleeves camis, bustiers, tee-tops, tee-shirts, Silkback tops, pants, belts, and purses.
Necklines
Our tops come in all different types of necklines, including v-neck, scoop neck, square neck, off shoulder, straps, strapless, and a lace inset.
Embroidery Designs
Many of our ribbon designs are based on floral patterns. These floral inspirations include our Flower, Feather Flower, Carnation, Tulip, Couture #1 and Couture #2 and Five Piece designs. Our Six Piece is a variation of the five piece made of 6 sections consisting of center lace, side ribbon, side swirl embroidery for a extremely complementary form fitting look. Our Cowboy design theme has triangular patches of different patterns incorporated into the fabric.
Manufacturing Process
We are proud that all of our products are made right here in Los Angeles, California, USA. All of our products are assembled by hand, in our factories in downtown LA. Our multi-stage dye process is a product done by hand, creating custom colors, in beautiful combinations never seen before.
Care and Handling
Most of our products are easily cared for, machine wash cold flat dry, unless otherwise stated.
